How to Paint a Miniature Watercolour Landscape
There’s something wonderfully satisfying about painting a miniature landscape in watercolour. In my latest video, How to Paint a Miniature Landscape, I take you through my process of building a tiny landscape with layers of transparent colour, showing how a simple painting can gradually develop depth, atmosphere and detail. Using largely one colour, you can create an enormous amount of contrast that feels dreamy and atmospheric.
Miniature watercolour painting is a lovely way to practise your watercolour techniques, especially if you're learning how to paint landscapes. Working on a small scale encourages you to focus on colour mixing, layering, brush control and creating depth with watercolour—without needing hours to complete a painting.
