Can I Paint an Original Abstract in a Few Minutes?
Sometimes the best paintings happen when you stop overthinking them.
In this video, I set myself a little challenge: can I create an original abstract watercolor painting in just a few minutes?
Rather than starting with a detailed plan, I let the paint, shapes and colours guide the painting. Abstract art is a great excuse to experiment — you can play with loose marks, unexpected colour combinations and layers without worrying about making everything look “right.”
There’s something particularly enjoyable about working in this way. When you only have a few minutes, there isn't much time to second-guess every brushstroke. You simply have to make a mark and see what happens.
And that's one of the things I love about watercolor: a little unpredictability can become part of the painting.
So grab your paints, put on some music and give yourself permission to make a mess. You might be surprised by what appears on the page.

Happy Painting!
